Why Do People Hate Tim Tebow?

Tebow is now 2-2 as a starting quarterback in the NFL (and if you don't know he's working with one of the worst teams out there), but you would think he's 0-4, with horrible stats the way people speak of him. Most of the Tebow haters say he's not a quarterback. Tell that to Miami and the other teams he beat as he was behind center. He has 15 Td's with only 3 interceptions. 7 of those TD's are rushing. He hasn't had an entire season to prepare yet so I would think he will only improve his skills as he gets used to the NFL. The truth that scares all of his critics is the fact that this is most likely as bad as he'll ever get. For now his constant 4th quarter heroics speak for itself.

Aaron Rodgers had 6 wins 10 losses his first year. And Rodgers had a better team to work with not to mention a more efficient learning process as he was studying behind the great Brett Favre for 2 whole years.

Peyton Manning went 3 wins and 13 losses his first year. Though he went 13 and 3 the following year which showed he just needed to iron out a few kinks.

Tom Brady was simply a beast from the get go, but his first full season he only racked up 9 wins and 7 losses.

Steve Young definitely had difficulties early on. His record as a starter was 3–16. In his 19 games, he threw for only 11 touchdowns with 21 interceptions while completing fewer than 55% of his passes. That was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which was a horrible organization, similar to Tebows current position with the Broncos where now without Brandon Loyd and no real running threat Tebow is pretty much the whole offense. Even when Steve Young went to San Fran and Joe Montana was finally done they went 4-4 until Young warmed to his new roll.

Troy Aikman also had a pretty rough start and his team actually had some talent. He finished 1989 with an 0-11 record as a starter, completing 155 of 293 passes for 1,749 yards, 9 TDs, 18 INTs.

John Elway's first season in 1983 ended with a record of 9 wins 7 losses with many more interceptions than TD's. Brett Favre also went 9 for 7, Carson Palmer went 8-8, Johnny Unitas went 7-5.....etc

We as Christians aren't surprised at all by the negativity he receives from the media as we are used to the media being against all things Christian. The Bible is full of warnings that we will be treated badly while we follow Jesus. Here are a few verses that speak about the persecution we Christians will continue to endure.

1 Thessalonians 3:7

2 Corinthians 12:10

Hebrews 10:33

Tim Tebow was born in the Philippines as his missionary parents were there spreading the love of Jesus Christ. His mother was told to have an abortion due to high risk of complications but her faith wouldn't allow her to and I'm pretty sure she's glad she made that decision.

He's an amazing story, if you're interested in knowing more of Tebow here are some links.
